Stem repair and re-waxing services are available from SMS Pipes. State the desired service in writing. Please include your name, address, phone number (with answering machine), e-mail address, original receipt, return shipping preference, and value of the pipe for insurance purposes (if a receipt is not available). Pack the letter and meerschaum pipe (in its original case) in a well-padded box, insured for the value of the pipe, and send to:

Once the pipe is evaluated, an estimate of the cost of repair plus postage and insurance will be given by phone or e-mail. The repair will only proceed after approval received. Notice: Meerschaum repairs are taken at your own risk and not guaranteed against breakage.

On Approval Requests:

Even though the inventory shown on SMS Pipes is reserved for Internet sales only, the site serves as an on-line catalog for "on approval" requests. Simply contact one of the tobacconists listed on the Locate page to begin the process. Once the tobacconist's requirements are met, SMS Pipes will check the availability of the pipe. If the pipe is in stock, it is shipped to directly to your tobacconist who will contact you when it arrives. If the pipe is temporarily out of stock, you can request that it be placed on order for later delivery.
